IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jean Mcclure
Creswick
August 7, 1937 – September 6, 2025
Jean Anne McClure Creswick was born in Marietta, Ohio to Clarence Irwin McClure and Helen Elizabeth Cottle. She passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025 at her daughter's home at the age of 88. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother remembered for her love of family and friends.
Jean loved life. She was creative and especially honored and excited to create life via her children. She was open to new ideas, travel, and relationships. She valued her personal past history. A part of Marietta, Ohio stayed dear to her all her life.
Coming from a family that highly valued education, she graduated from Ohio University and attended Ohio State University for graduate school. She worked for several years at Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus, where she met her husband Fred and made many friends. She later enjoyed working as a computer programmer for the University of Tennessee.
In the 1970s, Jean volunteered at a halfway house for runaway children and at a meal facility for the elderly, demonstrating her deep commitment to helping others and serving her community. In recent years, she volunteered as a gardener for her church. She was a member of Luminary United Methodist Church of Ten Mile, TN.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frederick Audun Creswick. She is survived by her brother, John Edward McClure of Charleston, West Virginia (wife Patricia McClure); her daughter, Kris Creswick McBride of Madison, Alabama (husband Mark McBride); her son, Kirk Fredrik Creswick of Carefree, Arizona (wife Vallerie Creswick); and her granddaughters, Carollyne Creswick (husband Robert Lewis) and Lilly Creswick.
Memorials on her behalf may be made to Luminary United Methodist Church, 3401 River Road, Ten Mile, TN 37880 or with a charity of your choice.
Jean's legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
