Jeffrey Lynn Amerine, lovingly known to many as “J-Money,” “Jeffers,” “Meffrey,” “Jeffie,” and “Jeff-With-Two-F’s,” passed away on May 12, 2026, at the age of 67.

Born on March 18, 1959, in Hoisington, Kansas, at Clara Barton Hospital to Richard and Marline (Branham) Amerine, Jeff built a life centered around family, hard work, laughter, and love. At just 19 years old, he married the love of his life, Leslie Dee Wasielewski Amerine, in 1979. Together they shared 47 wonderful years of marriage and created a home and family filled with joy, support, humor, and unwavering devotion.

In 1982, Jeff and Leslie moved to the Huntsville area after Leslie’s father, the late Stan Wasielewski, took a position at SCI in Huntsville. They eventually settled in Lacey’s Spring, where Jeff and Leslie built the home they still lovingly share today. Together, they raised their daughters in Lacey’s Spring attending the Methodist Church, where their family built deep roots and lifelong friendships.

Nothing in Jeff’s life mattered more than his family. He was a devoted husband, proud father, and deeply cherished Pops. He is survived by his wife, Leslie; his daughters, Lyndee (Chase) McClung, along with their children Eli and Kamryn McClung; and Kayla (Garrett) Tucker, along with their sons Jack Lawson, Beckett, and Gray Tucker; and honorary daughter, Samantha (Matt) Nielsen, along with their son, Oliver. He is also survived by his father, Richard Amerine; his sister, Christal (Mark) Bitter; his brother, Darren Amerine; mother-in-law, Julia Wasielewski; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Phyllis (Al), Connie (Tom), and Laura (Jim); nephews and nieces: Adam (Kyirsten), Josh (Sara), Taylor, Jacob, Cori (late Roch), Lacey (Dave), Klint, Scott, Tracy (Ryan), Julia Ellen (Brandon), Ally (Hayden), Kyle (Blake); great nephews and nieces: Cora, Brynn, Ellie, Maddie, Xander, Max, Eli, Zane, Zoe, Espen, Alison, Emma, Kyndel, Caleb, Audrey, Mills, Dutton, Ellie, and Annie.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marline Amerine; maternal grandparents Charles and Ada Branham; paternal grandparents LaVerne and Velma Amerine; father-in-law Stan Wasielewski; and great nephew Aiden Amerine.

Jeff was the kind of man everyone could count on. If something was broken, needed building, fixing, or figuring out, Jeff was the one people called. A true tinkerer and creator, he could seemingly do anything - building computers, repairing engines, upholstering boat cushions, working on campers and boats, or building model airplanes. He approached life with creativity, patience, and quiet confidence, always willing to lend a hand, offer advice, or help someone solve a problem.

But beyond all his talents, Jeff will be remembered most for his heart. He had an infectious laugh, found humor in nearly everything, and had a way of making people feel welcomed, comfortable, and cared for. He loved being on the water, treasured time with his family, and was rarely seen without a cup of coffee in hand, no matter the time of day.

Jeff lived a life of integrity, generosity, and deep devotion to the people he loved. He worked tirelessly to provide a wonderful life for his family and leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, wisdom, and countless treasured memories.

Though he is already deeply missed, the love and spirit he poured into his family and friends was truly a blessing for all and will continue to live on for generations.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow in the chapel at 4:00 p.m.
