With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jere Conn Stephens, who entered into eternal rest with the Lord on January 12, 2026, at the age of 85.

Conn leaves behind a lasting legacy at Huntsville Utilities, where he devoted 32 years of service to the community. During his distinguished career, he created the lineman apprenticeship program and retired as Operations Superintendent of the Electrical Department.

Conn was united in marriage for 64 years to the love of his life, Judy Tucker Stephens. Together, they shared a life rich in adventure, enjoying travel, camping, and cruising. He was a devoted presence in the lives of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cherishing each moment spent with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ruby Stephens, and his sister, Barbara Ann Conroy. He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy; his daughters, Sheri Yell (Johnnie) and Lori Reece (Rodney); grandchildren, Amber Theriault (Justin), Lauren Luna (Brad), Hannah Reece, and Connor Reece (Olivia); and great-grandchildren, Alex, Branum, Forrest, Karaline, and Millie.

Arrangements include visitation on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Connor Reece, Jay McGough, Ethan McGough, Justin Theriault, Alex Theriault, and Brad Luna.
