Dean Pollard
July 18, 1950 – July 7, 2025
Jimmy Dean Pollard (JD) of Hazel Green, AL passed away peacefully July 7, 2025. JD is preceded by his parents William C. and Eleanor Pollard of Hazel Green; three brothers: Edward Pollard, Lee Pollard, and Bobby Pollard. He's survived by his sister Carol Estrada, brother Rayford Pollard, son Adam Pollard (Laura) of St. Cloud, FL., three daughters: Amanda (Murray) Bartlett of Huntsville, Alisha (Alex) Bondarenko of Franklin, TN., Heather (Lefty) Kerr of Michigan and five grandchildren: Maia Pollard, Ellie Bondarenko, Ava Bartlett, Alexandra and Emmie Kerr.
Jim's passion in life was singing. At age 16, he formed his first band. Moving to Detroit, he began working with various Motown bands as a warm-up singer and also fronted for Hank Williams Jr, Cal Smith, Stella Parton and others. Over the years, he entertained in various clubs and venues around the country. In more recent years, he has enjoyed doing venues to several assisted living facilities in and around Huntsville. JD's sense of humor, his wittiness, and talent enamored him with his audience. He truly enjoyed seeing the joy and laughter of his senior audiences and came to love them as friends. He will always be a "missing" star in a many lives.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 13th, from 11:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., with a funeral service immediately following at Berryhill Funeral Home. Pastor Phil Jackson will be officiating. Interment will take place at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
