Jimmy Ray Gattis, 81, died
Thursday, November 24,
2016 at Huntsville Hospital.
He was preceded in death
by his parents Lemuel and
Selma Gattis, brother Charles
Gattis, and sister Cathrine
Gattis.
Mr. Gattis is survived
by his wife of 47 years, Pinna
Carpenter Gattis; sister-in-law
Wilma Gattis; nephew Dr.
Charles (Judy) Gattis; niece
Kathie Barnett, grandson
Bobby (Yvonne) Hanna; and
great-granddaughter Lucy
Hanna.
He graduated from
Huntsville High School and
attended Howard College
in Birmingham. Mr. Gattis
worked for Allstate Insurance,
and later was the owner of
Jimmy Gattis' Body Shop. In
1985, he started Property
Damage Appraisals.
Mr. Gattis was a long-time
member of Epworth United
Methodist Church, where
he was serving as church
treasurer and chairman of
the finance committee. He
had also served as chairman
of many other committees at
the church.
Visitation will be from 1:00
- 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Berryhill
Funeral Home with chapel
service following at 3:00 with
Rev. Todd Noren-Hentz and
Dr. Charles Gattis officiating.
Burial will be in Itawamba
County, MS. In lieu of flowers,
memorial gifts may be made
to Epworth United Methodist
Church; 2102 Epworth Dr.;
Huntsville, AL 35811.
