John "Jack" Beauford Bequette, 86 of Huntsville, AL passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Born on January 13, 1939, in St. Louis, MO, Jack was the son of John Beauford Bequette and Margaret Elizabeth (Kane) Bequette Klein. He was also a beloved brother of David Kane Bequette (Marcia) and Tom Klein.
Jack is survived by his spouse, Laura (Demzik) Bequette, brother, Tom, daughter, Sherryl Lynn (Bequette) Clay (Patrick), son, John Partick Bequette (Nancy), eight grandchildren Sean Clay, Aidan Clay, Katie Bequette, Maggie Bequette, William Bequette, Monica Bequette, Cece Bequette and Theresa Bequette, as well his many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends. He was preceded in death by his father John, his mother Margaret, his brother David and son-in-law Patrick.
Jack was raised in St. Louis and graduated from Bishop De Bourg High School. He lived in Huntsville, AL for 26+ years where he retired, He enjoyed a fulfilling career supporting Army Aviation in engineering and management, where he was respected for his ingenuity, leadership and work ethic. Outside of work, he found joy in cooking, woodworking, home renovation and cheering on his beloved LSU Tigers in college football while sitting on the couch with his two Labradors, Bailey and Buddy. He never met a stranger, always ready with a warm smile and an infectious laugh that often gave away he was up to something; generous with his time, he was the first to offer help and always willing to mentor and encourage others.
A visitation will be held on Friday June 20, 2025, at 9:00 am at Holy Infant Catholic Church, Ballwin, MO with the funeral mass at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Wildwood, MO immediately afterward.
