John Eastwood Harris, age 70, of Huntsville, Al, died peacefully surrounded by family at home on May 4, 2026. 

Born on February 4,1956 in Decatur Illinois to Margaret Joan and Daniel Boone Harris. He spent his life dedicated to his family and his craft as an electrical technician. He graduated from Athens State University with a BS of Psychology and Personnel Management. He discovered he preferred hands on work and enjoys 30 years in the electrician field. 

Outside of work he loved animals and nature. He had an uncanny ability to connect with them and was able to train a wild rabbit, Smoke, would come when called to return to his cage. He enjoyed reading, writing and listening to music. He spent most of his days in retirement sitting outside reading, with his golden retriever, Baron, at his side and visiting with the neighbors who frequently stopped by to chat. 

He is survived by his spouse of 44 years, Desiree, his children Daniel (Rachel) Harris and Michelle (David) Harris grandchildren Payton, Emma and Micah his brother Tom Harris and many extended family members and in-laws. 

A celebration of life will be held on June 5, 2026 at 11 am at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Huntsville. There will be family visitation an hour before the service from 10-11.
