John William
Hargrove
Mar 27, 1948 — Sep 17, 2026
Toney, Alabama
John Hargrove, 78, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2026, at his daughter’s home, surrounded by the love of his family.
John was a hardworking man who took great pride in the things he loved. In his youngeryears, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his true passion was working on cars. He was thebest mechanic his family ever knew. If something was wrong with a car, John could usuallyfigure it out. Working with his hands and helping others was simply part of who he was.
John loved his family dearly and was always ready with a funny saying, a good story, or a memory to share. He and his beloved wife enjoyed taking weekend trips to Tunica, making memories together that his family will cherish forever. His wife passed away in 2009, and John carried her memory with him throughout the years. He enjoyed the simple things in life like sitting on the porch, smoking his cigarettes, drinking his coffee, and visiting with the people he loved. Those ordinary moments became some of the most precious memories for his family.
John was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His daughters, Denise and Barbara, could not have asked God for better parents. They are forever grateful for the love, guidance, memories, and lessons their parents gave them.
John is survived by his daughters, Denise and Barbara; grandchildren, Clint Blankenship and wife Samantha, Austin Blankenship and wife Kellee, Jarred Miller and wife Jess, and Timmy Hagler; and great-grandchildren, Katie Blankenship, Lydia Blankenship, Jace Blankenship, Brier Miller, Hudson Blankenship, Aubrey Smith, Emma Pratt, and Tyson Pratt.
John will be deeply missed by every person who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
His family will forever remember his stories, his funny sayings, his love of cars, his time on the porch with his coffee, and all the little things that made him uniquely John. Though his passing leaves an emptiness that can never be filled, his family finds comfort in knowing that he is finally at peace and reunited with the woman he loved.
His memory will live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those who loved him. The greatest part of his legacy is the family he leaves behind and the love that will continue through each generation.
Per his last request, there will be no service.
