John Mathews, 65, of Arab, AL passed away Friday at his home. John was a native of Bay City, Michigan and a resident of Marshall County for four months. He was a lifelong lover of music and an avid guitarist. Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years: Joann H. Mathews; one son: John Walker (Sherry) Mathews; four daughters: Diana (Scott) Convis, Tonya (Michael) Wilk, Misty (Jared) Rosa and Brandy (John Gravette) Kennedy; one former sonin-law: Charles Kennedy, Jr.; four sisters: Irene Joseph, Joy Arnold, Jeanie Tremble and Iola Skinner; eleven grandchildren and one brand new great-grandchild: Blake Wilk. A private family service will be held at a later date. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
