It is with deep sorrow to announce that John T. Perkins, 69, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026. He'd had a number of health issues over the past few years but he fought like a trooper and he always rallied back. Unfortunately his fight wasn't enough this time….his death was sudden and unexpected.

John was a hard worker his entire life and eventually owned his own business, "Custom Blinds and Shutters," in Guntersville, AL. He loved what he did and he loved being his own boss. He absolutely adored his children and grandchildren. He loved to fish, ride his Harley, beach life
listen to classic rock and roll, and dine on really good seafood. Oh, and he LOVED dogs!

John was preceded in death by his mother, Mary K. Remich (Jack), father, John Perkins, Sr. (Fay), sister, Lisa Perkins and son, Jeremy Perkins.

John is survived by his partner, Delores "Dee" Perkins, daughter, Jessica Stewart (Ben), two granddaughters, Addison deGuehery and Haven deGuehery, and sisters Kathy Perkins Hicks (Randy) and Elizabeth "Liz" Richbourg (Mike).

His funeral will be at Berryhill Funeral Home in Huntsville, AL on Thursday, March 19, 2026. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM with his eulogy following at 4:00.
