John Willis Walker, of Toney, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on August 24, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. He was 91 years old.

John was born in Huntsville, Alabama, on October 1, 1934, to William and Bertha May Walker. Throughout his life, he built a legacy defined by service, hard work, adventure, humor, and—above all—love for his family.

John proudly served in the United States Air Force before beginning a career as an air traffic controller at Huntsville International Airport. Later in life, he became a land developer and cattle farmer, embracing the hard work and independence that came naturally to him.

John enjoyed many things in life, including Alabama football, trips to the beach, and fishing. But his greatest joy was his family and having the honor to be called “PaPa” by so many. He cherished every moment spent with them and will be remembered for the stories he loved to tell, his silly nature, his wonderful sense of humor, and the way he could bring a smile to those around him.

John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce Walker, son, Dicky Walker and son-in-law, Ryan Burroughs.

He is survived by his daughters, Patty Parcus (Jimmy Parcus) and Johnnie Smith (Keith Smith), daughter-in-law, Deborah Walker; granddaughters, Jennifer Parcus, Christie Carter (Jake Carter), Jessica Silver (Clint Silver), Katie Burroughs, and Candice Parcus; great-grandchildren, Ethan (Hannah), Gabe, Walker, Stella, Ayla, Ellie, Brayden, and Willa; and his great-great grandsons, Charlie and Archie.

John leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will carry his love, laughter, and stories with them. His presence brought warmth and joy to so many, and his absence will be felt every day.

He will be deeply loved, dearly remembered, and greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 29th 10:00 - 11:30 AM at Berryhill Funeral Home, followed by graveside service at 12:00 PM at Cameron Cemetery.
