Jonathan Curtis Wilson, 58, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on August 19, 2026. Jonathan spent his life surrounded by the people, places, and passions that meant the most to him.
His love for cars and racing began in childhood, inspired by his father. What began as a love passed down from father to son grew into a lifelong passion and eventually a dream career. He was a short-track racecar driver and mechanic, dedicating much of his life to the automotive and racing community. To him, cars were never simply machines, they were a way of life, a craft, and a connection to his father that he carried with him throughout his life. He made lifelong friendships and built a community of people who shared his passion for racing and the automotive world.
Outside of the track and garage, he enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved fishing, camping, spending time outdoors, and, of course, sitting down to enjoy some good crawfish. Above all, he was a father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Wayne Wilson; his grandparents; a best friend, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is survived by his mother, Wanda Faye Wilson; his brother, Mitchell Keith Wilson and his wife, Alicia Wilson; his children, Curtis Lee Wilson and his wife, Kimberly Wilson, Chassidy Flinchum and her husband, Dustin Flinchum, and Frankie Wilson and girlfriend Yulissa Perez; and his eight grandchildren, Annabeth, Elaina, McKenna, Layne, Teegan, Brookleigh, Tinlee, and Madlynn.
He also leaves behind many cherished friends and lifelong connections within the automotive and racing community.
His life was built around the things he loved; his family, his cars, racing, the outdoors, and the people who shared those passions with him. The memories he created, the lives he touched, and the love he gave will remain with his family and friends long after the engines have gone quiet.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 25th from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at Berryhill Funeral Home, followed by the service at 2:00. Burial will be at Hough Cemetery in Lacey's Spring.
