Joyce Elaine Burcham of Booneville, MS, passed peacefully in the early morning of September 11, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in New Orleans on September 2, 1957, Joyce lived a life defined by love, generosity, and quiet strength. To know her was to be welcomed, fed, and fiercely cared for.

She was the heartbeat of her family and the soul of her neighborhood—"Ms. Joyce," who handed out popsicles in the summer and kindness all year round. She watched generations grow, offering not just snacks, but sanctuary. Helping others wasn't something Joyce did—it was who she was.

She is survived by her children: Jesse and Rebecca Hyde (Christopher, Kimber, Stephanie) of Huntsville, AL; Jeremy and Jeri Lynn Hyde of Olive Branch, MS; Jennifer Hyde (Emma and Alex Estes) of Huntsville, AL; Joseph Burcham Jr. and Australia Rowlings (Kaspian, Kalianna, Kai'von, Kameron); and Skye Burcham (Maycee Burcham and Jewel Burcham) of Pontotoc, MS. She also leaves behind her cherished great-grandson Isaiah, son of Christopher and Zabrina Hyde.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Fay and JW Huddleston; her sister Juanita; and granddaughter Carrie Burcham. She loved many as if they were her own, offering countless souls another place to call home.

Her light remains in every life she touched—and she will be missed by so many.
