Obituary

Judy Hope Fauver Drewyor passed away on June 1, 2025, in Huntsville, Alabama at the age of 83 surrounded by her loving family. Judy was born on June 21, 1941, in Grayling, Michigan to the late Edward Holly Fauver, Sr. and Waneeta Rose Vollmer Fauver. S

he married Richard Arthur Drewyor of Swanton, Ohio on September 3, 1961, in Ft. McClellan, Anniston, Alabama where she was serving in the Women's Army Corps playing saxophone in the military band, as well as a Dixieland band. Judy loved to travel, which fit right in with marrying an army officer. They lived in Heidelberg and Mannheim, Germany, traveling extensively throughout Europe and Seoul, South Korea before settling in North Alabama. Judy loved archaeology, genealogy, and comparative religion. She had degrees in English, Comparative Religion, and Criminal Justice.

Judy is predeceased by her sister, Shannon Dawn Fauver, and her brother, Frederick James Fauver. Judy is survived by her husband, Richard Arthur; her son, Richard James Drewyor; her daughter, Dee Melodie Drewyor; her granddaughter, Emma Elizarose Drewyor Cooley; her grandson, David Michael Drewyor Cooley; her brother Edward Holly Fauver, Jr. and his wife Dora of Montrose, Michigan, as well as her many nieces and nephews including Marsha Symons and her husband, Russ, of San Antonio, Texas; Rikilynn Layher and her husband, Paul, of Frankenmuth, Michigan; James Fauver and his wife, Kellie, of Cedar Park, Texas; Jennifer Charry of Saginaw, Michigan; Jeffrey Fauver of New York, New York; Michael Fauver and his husband, Kevin Klakouski, of Brooklyn, New York; and Shelley Fewer and her husband, John, of Saginaw, Michigan; and her great-nieces and great-nephews: Charity Harris (née Gray), Sadie Layher, Sam Layher, James "TiJim" Fauver II, Abigayle Fewer, and William Fewer.

In lieu of a funeral service, the family will host a private memorial as she is laid to rest in her birth state of Michigan. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to The University of Alabama in Huntsville College of Nursing scholarship fund, the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org, or any dementia research non-profit.
