IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Karl Edward
Carlson, Jr.
June 7, 1935 – April 13, 2025
Karl Edward Carlson, Jr. born on June 7, 1935, in Arcadia, FL was called home on April 13, 2025, at the age of 89 at his home in Toney, AL. He was the son of Karl Edward Carlson, Sr, and Eletha Beatrice Purvis Carlson.
He entered the United States Army in 1954 and was stationed in Korea and Germany for most of his service. He came from a family of mechanics. After the Army he was employed as an auto and heavy machinery mechanic at Bright Hour Ranch for over 30 years. His love for the ranch produced an avid fisherman and hunter. He was always helping his friends and neighbors with projects. He would study a problem or project and figure out an easier, smarter way to resolve and amaze the people he was assisting.
He loved his "girls" as he called them with all his heart. His family was important to him, and he loved spending time with them.
He is survived by his daughters: Barbara Keisler (Wade) of Lexington, SC; Kim Darlin of Toney, AL; BJ Carlson-Sells (Jim) of Toney, AL and Teresa Mathews (Michael) of Sulphur Springs, TX; his sister: Bobbie Browning of Arcadia, FL; Grandchildren: Jason Areheart (Megan); Crystal Gardner (Guy); Karlee Shirley (David) and Kason Mathews. Great Grandchildren: Blake Morehouse; Kathryn Morehouse; Katie Sells; Cora Shirley and Aaron Shirley. Many nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces that he loved like his own.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, brother Johnny Carlson, sisters; Matilda Browning and Constance Brady; grandsons: Pete Darlin and Cory Edwards,
Your love and laughter echo in our hearts a melody of cherished memories just as the love you gave us remains an eternal source of strength and comfort.
GONE FROM OUR SIGHT BUT NEVER FROM OUR HEARTS!
