Obituary

Kurt David Limberg, 53, of Gurley, AL formerly of Saginaw, MI went to be with the Lord on September 5, 2021. His family is deeply saddened by his unexpected, but peaceful passing.

Kurt was born in Saginaw, MI on August 13, 1968, to David Limberg and Karen Vicki (Oliver) Limberg. After graduating from Merrill High School, he proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army. After completing basic training at Fort Knox, KY, he was stationed overseas in Germany, during the Gulf War. Kurt was

proud to have served his country as a tank gunner. After the Gulf War, Kurt returned stateside and was stationed at Fort Hood, TX. He was medically discharged and returned to Saginaw, MI before moving to Alabama for work. It was at that time he met and married his former wife, Raelle (Inskeep) Nagy, settled in the Madison County, AL area and had two children.

After getting settled in Madison County, Kurt became an electrician. He worked with electrical companies to install and service fire and alarm systems as well as commercial construction. Although Kurt was a quiet and reserved person, he was very much a loving father, son, brother, and friend. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed attending car shows, became an avid model builder and collector. He had a passion for the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing any chance he could. Early this year, Kurt became engaged to Lynda Wise of St. Louis, MI. Lynda has six children, and he loved her children as his own. They planned to marry in November, but sadly, Lynda became ill with COVID-19 and lost her fight in May.

Kurt was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William and Ruth (Hickey) Limberg; maternal grandparents, John and Dorothy (Drake) Oliver; his aunt Pamela (Oliver) Shackelford; and cousin, Deanna Shackelford. He is survived by his parents, David and Karen Limberg; daughter, Brittaney Limberg; son, William Charles Limberg II; sister, Erika (Limberg) and Tony Pace; his eagerly anticipated stepchildren, Nicole, Matthew, Jay, Rachel, Allissa, and Emily; in addition to step-grandchildren; a host of extended relatives; and many wonderful friends.

There will be a visitation at Berryhill Funeral Home on September 9 th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
