IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Larry Randell
Carroll
January 18, 1948 – November 22, 2025
Larry Randell Carroll was born in Georgia and spent his childhood in Roanoke and LaGrange. His family moved to Plant City, Florida when he was in high school, where he attended and graduated from Plant City High School. It was there that he met his high school sweetheart and wife of nearly 60 years, Nancy Calhoun Carroll. Together, they have two children, Derrick Carroll and Shannon Enfinger, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents William "Pop" Carroll and Martha Carroll and his sister Wilma Geraldine "Geri" Howell. He is survived by his brother, Bill Carroll.
Larry served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, traveling with his family to more than 11 duty stations ranging from super cold and formidable to beautiful beach locations. He always had a heart for children, leading him to serve with the youth ministry where he took many trips with the youth on a coach bus. Larrry always said "load 'em up, let's go!" Larry's love for children and teens led him to work in adoption, counseling, fostering, and children's homes. He and Nancy fostered 11 babies waiting on their forever families and 2 birth moms.
In 1995, Larry started a new chapter in real estate. What began on a whim became his next life passion. He loved everything about real estate, from finding someone their perfect home, to the negotiation, and eventually to teaching. Larry started his own real estate school (2005-2022), where he helped prospective real estate professionals become licensed and offered continuing education for veteran agents. Students loved Larry and his zest for education, always commenting that he made the courses interesting and fun. Larry served on the Huntsville Area Association Board of Realtors from 2013 to 2018 and as Board President in 2017.
Larry's legacy is one of service, love, and dedication to his family and community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
