Leatha Ann
Suggs Moore
September 30, 1944 – September 27, 2025
Mrs. Leatha Ann Suggs Moore unexpectedly, yet peacefully departed this life on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at Crestwood Medical Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama.
In lieu of the recent passing of Mr. James Moore (Mrs. Moore’s husband who passed away in May of this year), on behalf of Mrs. Moore and upon request of her family, there will not be any formal viewing or funeral services held. The family asks for time to grieve privately as they come to terms with what life looks like now going forward without their mother.
Mrs. Moore lived a dedicated, strong and powerful life impacting many, on and off the job, in and out of ministry, and being a true people person, she never met a stranger. She greeted everyone with a smile and the TRUTH. She walked in honesty and demanded the same from us as her children. If you told her you were coming, she held you to that and you better show up or she would put you in your place about it until you showed. She was the true epitome of ‘A Mother’s Love’ and ‘A Mother Knows.’ She was and will forever be the root and backbone of her family in unexplainable ways. Her love and energy was unmatched from beginning to end with many even outside of her actual family growing to know and love her as mom. Our hearts are truly broken, and we are left without sufficient words. She would want us to be ok, but the truth be told we are simply not. We are at God’s Mercy and as the day’s progress, our prayer is that God allows and grants us the Grace to celebrate the life she lived allowing Joy of her memory to resonate with us forever. She will never ever be forgotten.
The family asks for ongoing prayers during this difficult time and any condolences, gifts, flowers and cards be sent in our mother’s regard and respect to 320 James K Taylor Lane, Meridianville, Alabama 35759.
Leatha is preceded in death by her mother Lucille Martin Suggs, her father J.B. Suggs, her stepmother Josephine Suggs; her brothers Jacob Suggs, Skillet Suggs, Willard Suggs, James Suggs, and Henry Suggs; her sister’s Lucy Mae Suggs Washington, Irene Suggs Hampton, Burlena Suggs, Catherine Suggs Dozier, and Dorothy Mae Suggs Howard; her daughter Vanessa Moore; her grandson Jerame Moore; and her husband James Moore, Sr.; She leaves to cherish her memories, her brother William (Bill) Suggs (Ola Mae) of Huntsville, AL; her son James Moore, Jr. (Sindy) of Jacksonville, North Carolina; her sons Emmanuel Moore (Shelia) and Steven Moore of Ardmore, AL; her son Waymon Moore (Stephanie) of Toney, AL; her daughter Songia Moore Lawrence (Greg) of Meridianville, AL; her daughter Tirellashaunta Moore of Madison, AL; and her goddaughter Felicia King of Madison County, AL; 10 Grand Children, 6 Great Grand Children, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of dear friends.
