Leonard James Stewart, affectionately known as Len, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, in Huntsville, Alabama, at the age of 70. Born on May 27,1955, in Rochester, Pennsylvania, Len was a cherished husband, father,grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was a testament to love, service, and storytelling.
Len was a devoted family man, married to his beloved wife, Lana Stewart, for 42 wonderful years. Together, they built a family grounded in love and mutual respect, raising three sons, William, Michael, and Jacob, who were his pride and joy. Len's legacy lives on in his grandchildren, Evie and Landon Stewart, who brought immense happiness into his life.
His service to his country was marked by dedication and honor, as he served in both the Air Force and the Army. Len took great pride in his military career, where he forged lifelong friendships and demonstrated unwavering commitment and courage.
Known for his gift of storytelling, Len had an ability to bring smiles to those around him. He was a man who loved to talk and share funny anecdotes, always leaving a lasting impression on anyone he met.
Len held his Christian faith close to his heart throughout his life. His faith provided him with strength and comfort, especially during his courageous battle with cancer, which he faced with remarkable bravery and grace.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lana; sons, William, Michael, and Jacob; grandchildren, Evie and Landon; and his brother, Tom Stewart. Len's family was the center of his world, and his enduring love and guidance will be dearly missed.
The family will receive visitors June 18, 2025 at 11:00 am at Berryhill Chapel, with a funeral service to celebrate Len's life following at 1:00 pm. Burial will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and to honor a life well- lived.
Len was the beloved head of his family, a man who valued love, laughter, and loyalty. His stories and spirit will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
