Linda Joe "Judy" King Griggs, 79, of Gurley, AL, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 21, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Judy’s life was defined by love, generosity, creativity, and a servant’s heart. She never hesitated to help others, freely giving her time and talents. Whether decorating weddings, arranging flowers, making dresses, or simply lending a helping hand, she found joy in making life more beautiful for others.

Above all else, Judy loved her family deeply. She treasured time spent together and found some of her greatest happiness in family gatherings, celebrations, and simply being surrounded by the people she loved. Her family was at the center of her heart, and the love she gave them will remain one of her greatest legacies.

She spent her career with Henderson Bank, where she eventually became Vice President, before continuing her career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as Chief of Small Business. She retired in 2008.

Judy will be remembered for her kindness, selflessness, creativity, and generous spirit. She spent her life serving others, creating beauty, and loving her family deeply. She will be greatly missed, but her love and beautiful spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jesse Tillman Griggs; children, Kasey Dean Champoux (Jeff), Justin Griggs (Kim), and Anna Beach (Dewayne); and grandchildren, Matthew Dean, Parker Dean, Tanner Dean, Jaxon Griggs, Josiah Beach, Lily Beach, and Faith Beach.

A visitation will be held 12:00-2:00 PM, Saturday, August 29th at Berryhill Funeral Home, with a graveside ceremony following at 2:30 at Gurley Cemetery.
