Louis Patrick Rookis, Jr., 73, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on April 19, 2026. He graduated from Butler High School in 1971.

He attended Calhoun Community College, Livingston University, and Austin Peay State University on track scholarships. He received his teaching degree from Athens State University and taught Special Education at Lee High School.

He was known for his humor and quick wit. He enjoyed fishing and sports, and he dedicated his life to his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Patrick Rookis, Sr., and his mother, Joan Fancher Rookis.

Louis Patrick Rookis, Jr. is survived by his brother, Timothy Rookis (Janna Rookis); his sister, Gina Durham (Larry Durham); his nephew, John “Chandler” Rookis; and his niece, Karly Rookis.
