IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lowell Wilson
Fincher
August 24, 1947 – March 7, 2026
Lowell Wilson Fincher, "Uncle LoLo", age 78, of Gurley, Alabama, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026. Born on August 24, 1947, Lowell lived a life defined by faith, service, devotion to family, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.
Lowell proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years before receiving an honorable discharge. Following his military service, he continued his dedication to the nation as a civilian employee with the Air Force, where he worked faithfully for many years. His strong work ethic and quiet commitment to service were admired by those who worked alongside him.
A devoted man of faith, Lowell was a member of Brownsboro Baptist Church for the past 15 years. He found great joy in teaching Sunday School, sharing his knowledge and love of Scripture with others, and building meaningful relationships within his church family.
Above all else, Lowell treasured his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who valued time spent with those he loved. Whether gathered around the dinner table, sharing stories, or enjoying time outdoors, Lowell's steady presence and kind heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
In his spare time, Lowell enjoyed many hobbies that reflected his love for nature and craftsmanship. He spent countless hours hunting, reloading ammunition, and tending to his bees through beekeeping—pastimes that brought him both peace and satisfaction.
He is survived by his loving wife, Terry Fincher; son, Paul Scott Fincher and wife Nicole; his grandchildren, Emily Fincher, Megan Fincher, and Sarah Fincher; his step-daughter, Kiera Waugh; his sisters, Glenda Maddox and Joyce Dickens (John); his brothers, Larry W. Fincher (Billie), James E. Fincher (Jeanie), and John R. Fincher, Jr. (Carol); and extended family members Chaobin Zhang, Caiyun Chin, Weiling Zhang, Weilan Zhang, Weixing Zhang, Weitian Zhang, and Weidong Zhang. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will cherish his memory.
Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mydras Fincher.
Lowell's life was one of quiet strength, steadfast faith, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
