IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lucille
Shuemake
December 17, 1935 – March 18, 2025
Billie "Lucille" Shuemake, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on March 18th, 2025 at the age of 89, in Huntsville, Alabama. Lucille was born in Kilgore, Texas on December 17th, 1935. She was a joy to all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love for family and friends and a spirit of generosity like no other.
Lucille was the oldest of 9 children born in her family and often helped care for her younger brothers and sisters as she grew up. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Kenneth, for 64 years until he passed in 2018. They enjoyed traveling in his red 1940 Ford and attending car shows across the United States with their car club. She found joy in caring for her family and extended family, teaching Sunday school for many years and in later years traveling with her husband. She was a pillar of strength for her family, always offering a listening ear no matter what the hour or day.
She is survived by her children, Keith Shuemake and Diane Hasley; grandchildren, Darrin Hasley, Holly Rawlinson, Derek Hasley, Danielle Hasley and Paige Woods. She was always proud to tell people that she was blessed with 14 great grandchildren. She made cherished friends every where she would go in life. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Shuemake and her parents, Fred and Edna Easley, including her 8 siblings.
A celebration of Lucille's life will be held on Sunday, March 23rd, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Berryhill Funeral Home in Huntsville, Alabama. Family will receive guest beginning at 1:00 pm at the same location.
There will also be a graveside service in Dallas, Texas at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home and Cemetery soon after and will share date and time when confirmed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honor to St. Judes Children's Hospital, a beacon of hope and care for many families, which she supported for many years.
