Obituary

Lynne Renée Cornelison, 63 years old, passed away on November 25, 2024. She was under palliative care after complications from a severe acute illness made complex by many underlying chronic conditions. She was born in Huntsville, AL to Corbet Melvin Cornelison and Beverly Anne Cornelison.

She was a loving, caring person who loved people, traveling, Coca-Cola and food. Lynne really loved home life and her family, but her passion was for traveling and adventure.  In her younger years, she completed the Outward Bound Leadership course and worked with different missionary groups in Africa and Honduras.  She had a zeal for travel planning, churning out detailed spreadsheets of daily activities for some family trips. Her travel  abroad, whether solo, with family members, or friends, took her to every continent except Antarctica!   In our family, she was legendary for several multi-state odysseys with our father, including one to escape power outages in Huntsville, and we fondly remember one road trip she took from Cape Cod to Alabama--via Wisconsin!

She always had a story to tell and any song that had a minor key would make her cry. Lynne was a graduate of both Auburn University and the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Her journey as a nurse took her through many specialties, states, and even out of the country. She always wanted the people around her to be having a good time as well and had a very generous spirit. Lynne found great delight in talking to the neighborhood dogs and their owners when out walking. In her final weeks in the hospital she kept encouraging us all to go and have fun, and she said she'd had a really good life.

She was well loved and will be missed by her siblings Lee Cornelison (wife Judy Pirani) and Ann Cornelison Vincent Boden (husband Mark Boden), her nieces Susan (Stacie), Julie (Grant), Karen (Louis) and Linda, and grand niece Sophia, grand nephew Daniel, and all her friends.
