Margaret Ann Hitt Bennett Vaughn, 79, stepped into everlasting life, face-to-face with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 12, 2025.

She was born on March 23, 1946, in York, Alabama. Margaret spent most of her younger years in South Alabama in the Boligee area. The family eventually moved to Laurel, Mississippi, where Margaret graduated from high school. She went to work for Mississippi Power and helped put her brother and her first husband through college at Mississippi State. When she and Larry moved to Huntsville, Alabama, she became a stay-at-home mom. Margaret and her entire family gave their life to Christ one night with a visit in the home from the preacher. And ever since then, she has spent her life loving others and loving them well. From driving Meals on Wheels to doing the Sunday school lesson in people's homes who were shut-in, to cooking meals and entertaining, she was an amazing cook and a wonderful hostess.

Margaret is preceded in death by her first husband, Larry D Bennett, her mother Margaret Marie Hitt, her father Edwin A Hitt, and her bonus daughter Joy C Vaughn.

She leaves behind a loving husband, John Vaughn, two daughters, Allison Tofflemire (Steve) and Lora Bennett (Arnold), her bonus daughters Jeanine, JacQueline (Jeff), Jessica, and bonus grandkids Katie, Sydney, and Caleb.

Family will be receiving friends at Berryhill Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, followed by a memorial service in the chapel at 4:00 pm.
