IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margie Anne
Thorne
January 12, 1935 – February 5, 2026
Margie Anne Thorne, age 91, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026. She was born on January 12, 1935, and lived a life defined by hard work, devotion, and an unforgettable spirit.
She proved that strength is not measured in inches, she was small in size but mighty in spirit, she was known for her feisty personality, sharp wit, and unwavering opinions—usually shared freely and always with love. A hard worker her entire life, she faced everything head-on and never believed in doing things halfway.
She spent her working years as a waitress, a profession she took great pride in. Loved by generations of patrons, Margie had a way of making everyone feel welcome and cared for. She retired from the Café at the Botanical Gardens, leaving behind countless fond memories and friendships.
Margie was a devoted mother to four, raising her family with grit, determination, and a whole lot of heart. Family was the center of her life. She
loved fiercely and protected proudly. She especially cherished traveling and shopping with her daughters, creating memories filled with laughter and love.
She was married for 68 years to the love of her life, William Raymond Thorne. Their bond was one of deep devotion, loyalty, and partnership. In a
final testament to that love, Margie passed just two weeks after her husband, as if her heart simply could not imagine a world without him.
Margie had a lifelong love for teddy bears, and she was comforted by them as she departed—surrounded by the simple joys that always brought her happiness.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Debbie; husband William Raymond Thorne; parents Alex Erickson and Helen Davis; and brothers and sisters: Francis Blood, Margaret Dailey, Harry Erickson, and John Erickson.
She is survived by her children: Daniel Thorne (Kelle), Diana Thornton (David), and Doreen Rose (Mike) ; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-
grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Margie leaves behind a family who will forever hear her voice in their heads, feel her strength in their hearts, and smile at the memories of a woman who lived fully, loved deeply, and never apologized for being exactly who she was.
