Marvin Michael Harris, 69, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.

Mike was born in Taylorsville, North Carolina. He grew up playing sports and developed a lifelong love of the outdoors. As a young man, he enjoyed dirt bike racing. Later in life, his favorite pastimes were riding his e-bike and spending time fishing. Above all else, Mike loved his family deeply.

Mike dedicated more than 44 years of his life to working as a prosthetist. He took great pride in helping veterans and other patients learn to walk again, and he found fulfillment in creating prosthetic limbs that helped people improve their lives. Mike is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 50 years, Patricia; his loving children, Daniel and Melanie; and his cherished grandchildren, Noah and Connor Harris. He is also survived by his brothers, Rick Harris (Bonnie) and Tim Harris (Cindy), along with many beloved family members and friends.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and caregivers who provided compassionate care during Mike’s final days. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in knowing that Mike’s love, kindness, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Visitation will be held on July 19, 2026, at Berryhill Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., with the funeral service immediately following at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Land Trust of North Alabama.
