Mary "Kathy" Kathryn Cornutt, 87, died peacefully February 14th at Redstone Village in Huntsville, AL.

Kathy was born December 27, 1937 in Lawrenceburg, TN. She attended school in TN, then lived in Peoria, IL for several years. She returned to Huntsville in 1958 and considered it home for 67 years. She married her beloved husband Hansel Cornutt on September 7, 1979 in Huntsville.  They were married for 43 years. They spent many happy years together in which they attended First United Methodist Church, where Hansel sang solo and was in the choir.  Kathy was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.

Kathy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt to all her family.  She will be fondly remembered for her wonderful meals and her happiness during time with her family. Her devotion and selflessness will always be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Kathy was a realtor in her work career and a devoted and incredible grandmother to Sarah and Michael. Kathy loved her many long term friendships in her lifetime.  She loved her dogs Ginger and Lacey. She loved her granddogs Ben and Ellie Mae and they loved her too.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Hansel Cornutt.

She is survived by her children: Jack Hall and wife Wendy of Harvest and Randy Smith and Debbie; grandchildren, Sara Laster and husband Brock, and Michael Hall and wife Jess, Mark Smith and wife Dawn, Jeffrey Smith, and Mary & Erik Everett, ; great-grandchildren, Nate Laster and Chloe Laster, ten grandchildren of Peoria, IL; sister, Linda Benefield; brother, Lindsay Benefield and wife Faye; nieces Donna and Cynthia; nephews Darryl and Danny; and many dear friends.

The family would like to thank the caretakers for their kindness and devotion during Kathy's short illness.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 18th from 3:00 - 4:00 PM at Berryhill Funeral Home.  Memorial service will follow at 4:00 with Pastor Tim Cole officiating.
