Obituary

Michael Bruce Little, age 72, of Huntsville, AL, passed away on November 24, 2025. Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose kindness and humor touched countless lives.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Marlerry Marlene Little; his children, Kyle (Jen) Little and Lindsey Little, both of Huntsville, AL; his cherished granddaughter, Falynn Little; his sister, Debra Truett of Austell, GA; and his nephew, Allen (Elisa) Truett of Marietta, GA, whom he lovingly considered a son.

Born to Louin John and Abbie Smith Little and raised in Ackworth, GA, Mike was a graduate of North Cobb High School, where he excelled in Cross Country and Track. His athletic talent earned him the title of State Champion High Jumper, bringing pride to his school and family and reflecting his dedication and competitive spirit.

Mike's journey led him to Athens, GA, where he attended college. He was a proud Georgia Bulldog, an enthusiastic supporter and loyal alumnus of the University of Georgia, where he earned two undergraduate degrees and met the love of his life, Marlene. He carried that same dedication into his professional life, building a successful career in Safety and Health. Mike later owned and operated a Huntsville-based business that provided services to the Southeast for 20 years until his retirement in 2021.

In 1988, Mike and his family moved to Huntsville, where he and Marlene raised Kyle and Lindsey. His passion for sports led to a deep love for coaching. Known fondly as "Coach Mike," he spent many years coaching baseball and soccer, often saying those years were the best times of his life. His players and their families remember him for his encouragement, patience, and genuine care.

In his later years, Mike rediscovered his love for running. He especially treasured the miles he shared with his running partners, his nephew Allen and his great neighbor and friend, David Kelley. Together, they completed the Rocket City Marathon when Mike was 60 years old, an accomplishment that remained one of his proudest.

Mike's legacy of hard work, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family and community will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Special thanks to Gentiva Hospice for the wonderful care and support they provided.
