Michael Ray Osmer, 65, of Gurley Alabama, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026.

Mike was born on June 28, 1961 in Berlin Germany and later attended and graduated from Madison County High School in 1979. Mike will be remembered as a great husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and friend, who was a kind and caring man. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone and would give you his shirt off of his back.

He was always proud to be at “691” as he called it (his street address) and watched over the cove with pride. He was also a devoted Alabama football fan and it was nearly impossible to have a conversation with him during football season without the Crimson Tide being mentioned and him yelling “run the ball”. He also loved Funkadelic Friday Nights in “The Garage”.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John David & Vivian Staples and Homer & Dolly Osmer, his father, Billy Joe Osmer.

Mike was survived by his wife, Judy Pigg Osmer; Sons, Cody Osmer and Clay Osmer; mother, Marie "Penny" Osmer; brothers, Steve Osmer (Janice) and Brian Osmer (Debbie); grandson, Chance Osmer;  Honorable brother Todd Nunn (Jennifer); many nieces and nephews; and a large circle of friends and cousins that he called his HomeTeam who will all deeply miss him.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 14th from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at Berryhill Funeral Home, followed by service at 2:00. Burial will be at Pleas Mount Cemetery on Killingsworth Cove Rd. in Gurley.

Pallbearers will be Kasey Kent, Shawn Kent, Billy Sentell, Todd Nunn, Brad McKelvey, Ralph Braswell, with an honorary pallbearer Chance Osmer.
