Nancy Sue
Jones
January 1, 1941 – May 23, 2026
Nancy Sue Jones, born January 1, 1941, in Los Angeles, California, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the age of 85.
Nancy grew up in Coffeyville, Kansas, before later making her home in Alabama. She was proud to be a registered member of the Cherokee Nation and Delaware Tribe residing in Oklahoma. After many years of dedicated work, Nancy retired from Daimler Chrysler in Huntsville, Alabama, where she was known as a hardworking and valued employee.
Nancy was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her giving spirit, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor. She always told you exactly what she thought and never held anything back! Nancy had a very generous heart and was always willing to help someone in need. She also had a deep love for animals — especially her dogs — and found joy in helping others through donating to various charities and sponsoring children in need. She loved music, traveling, baseball, and could always find joy in a good shopping trip.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Jones; her daughter, Vickie Brooks; and her granddaughter, Jenny Berkebile.
Nancy is survived by her children, Debra Kimbrel (Gerald) and Michael Kimbrel (Sandy); her grandchildren, Johnny Rowan, Scott Rowan (Brandy), Mitzi Rowan, Mandi LaCroix (Daniel), Jeff Brooks (Chelsea), Brian Brooks, Craig Kimbrel (Ashley), Matt Kimbrel, and Alan Kimbrel (Tabea); as well as 28 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
Nancy’s life was a blessing to those who knew her and she will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home in Huntsville, Alabama. An escorted graveside service will follow at Huntsville Memory Garden.
