Obituary

Patsy Simmons Sultemeier, 86, of Taft, Tennessee, passed on peacefully on June 21, 2026.

She was born on September 24, 1939, in San Angelo, Texas, to Joseph and Zola Woodul. Later in life, after working in the home, she went on to pursue a career as a Medical Assistant, which was in line with her love of caring for people. After her retirement, she enjoyed cross-stitch, creating many beautiful pieces that she shared with family and friends. She also enjoyed the garden and loved canning and making jelly.

She is survived by her children, Deborah McVay (Wayne), James Simmons (Kathie), Michael Simmons (Melody), and Charles Simmons, as well as 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Patsy also left her beloved companion, Cooper, her dog, which she definitely considered a big part of her family.

She was preceded in death by Mary (daughter), Harold (spouse), Mother, and Father.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. A viewing will be from 12:00 to 2:00, followed by the service at 2:00 pm at Berryhill Funeral Home Chapel in Huntsville. Subsequently, interment will be at Miller Cemetery in Plevna, Alabama.

Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
