Charolette Paulette Fanning, affectionately known as “Nana,” passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, hard work, and devotion to her family.

Paulette was born on June 27, 1947, to Oliver Denton Adams and Leola Paseur Adams. She loved the Lord deeply and found great joy in playing the piano and singing of His wondrous love. Her faith was evident in the way she lived her life and cared for those around her.

Paulette was an exceptionally hardworking woman. She managed two Fourth Dimension hair salons before later managing and operating Property Damage Appraisers alongside her beloved husband, Dean. She was known for her strength, wisdom, and ability to handle difficult circumstances and make tough decisions with tact and compassion. She took great pride in her home and firmly believed that “cleanliness was next to Godliness.”

Paulette loved through the everyday things. She exhibited love in every step. Her family will always remember her beautiful home, her generous heart, and perhaps most especially, her famous yellow cake with homemade peanut butter chocolate icing.

Paulette was married to Bobby Dean Fanning for more than 60 years and loved him faithfully throughout their life together. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and commitment. She continued to cherish his memory following his passing in 2024.

Her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Browner (Doug), and son, Brad Fanning (Lea); son-in-law, Rex Vaughn; nine grandchildren, Carmen V. Bragg (Sean), Hannah V. Creed (Kaze), Audrey B. Wright (Jerrid), Ellie V. Milby (Cole), Haley F. Loudin (Drew), Adam Browner (Abby), Austin Browner (Macki), Riley Fanning, and Walton Vaughn (Whitney); eight great-grandchildren, Gray &Graham Bragg, Bryant Wright, R.G. and Irene Creed, Marabelle & Vaughn Milby, and Davis Loudin; sister, Wanda A. Gipson and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Dean Fanning; daughter, Kimberly Vaughn; parents, Oliver Denton Adams and Leola Paseur Adams; brother, James Oliver Adams; and sister, Mary Nell Adams Gipson.

Paulette’s family finds comfort knowing that the Lord she loved and faithfully served has welcomed her home. The songs she spent her life singing about His wondrous love are now her eternal reality.

She will be deeply missed, but her love, faith, wisdom, and example will live on in the generations she leaves behind.

Visitation to celebrate Paulette’s life will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 12:00–2:00 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home, located at 2305 Memorial Pkwy NW, Huntsville, AL 35810. The funeral service will take place immediately following at 2:00 p.m., also at Berryhill Funeral Home.

Immediately following the service, Paulette will be laid to rest at Kennamer Cemetery in New Hope, Alabama.

The funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Gerome Hilliard and Rev. Doug Browner. Pallbearers honoring Paulette will include Adam Browner, Austin Browner, Riley Fanning, Walton Vaughn, Kaze Creed, Jerrid Wright, Drew Loudin, and Cole Milby.
