Pless "Moody" Knight, 91, of Hazel Green, Al, was surrounded by his family as passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025.

Moody was born on August 8, 1933, in Jackson County, Alabama, to Robert and Allie Knight. He graduated from Gurley High School, and was later drafted into the US Army. He was stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado, where he met Jo, his wife of nearly 70 years.

Most know Moody as a well respected businessman that enjoyed a challenge, but he also enjoyed any game of chance, sports, particularly golfing and racing, but above all was a devoted and loving family man.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Robert Knight and Allie Sanders Knight, his son Joseph Leon, his siblings Virgil Leon Knight, Helen Ruth Shepard, Veda Mae McNeill, John Moody Knight, Jessie Inez Wilkerson (Bunt), Eloise Sanders, Rita Faye Vann, Bobbie Jean Lands, Nancy Wanda Vann, and Joe Thomas Knight.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Knight, his daughter Karen Brazier and husband Johnny, daughter Joanne Goodson and husband Jeff, granddaughter Brittany Stoner and husband Jeff, grandson Adam Goodson and wife Mariela, along with many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you instead make a donation to St. Jude Children's Hospital in memory of Moody.

The patience, love, and generosity that Moody has shown throughout his life, will never be forgotten by those who love him.

Visitation will be Friday, July 25th from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at Berryhill Funeral Home.  Service will follow at 4:00, with Pete McGaha officiating.
