Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Randy Ronald Kappus, 67, who passed away on July 13, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. Born on February 7, 1958, Randy lived a life full of purpose, passion, and service.

Randy proudly served his country for 24 years as a member of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army National Guard. Randy recently retired as an Electronics Engineer Contractor to NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center on Redstone Arsenal. His work, which contributed to the advancement of science and technology, was a reflection of his deep commitment to excellence.

Outside of his professional life, Randy enjoyed a wide range of hobbies. He was an avid golfer who could be found on the golf course every week. Randy was also known for his incredible bowling skills, achieving multiple near-perfect games with scores of 298, 299, and a perfect 300. Randy had a deep appreciation for music, traveling far and wide to see some of his favorite performers. His love and talent for cooking brought joy to those around him, as he shared many meals with family and friends, often creating delicious dishes that left lasting memories.

Randy was a loving and devoted father, brother, and friend. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, sharp wit, and the unwavering love he showed to all those who knew him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of sharing their lives with him.

Randy is survived by his daughter, Kaitlyn Adams, and her husband, Todd Adams; his step-grandson, Jaxon Adams; his siblings, Ricky Kappus, Wendy Pierron (Danny Unterbrink), Julie Prom (Daniel Prom), Terry Kappus, and Kelly Kappus (Jean Kappus); his nieces and nephews, Erick Kappus (Melanie Kappus), Whitney Gierach (Nick Gierach), Jenny Smet (Casey Smet), Danielle Stanley (Braxton Stanley), Aaron Prom (Giuliana Rotunno), McKenzie Prom, Stephanie Rinas (Jordan Rinas), Scottie Kappus, Kelli Smith (Zack Smith), and Preston Kappus (Cassie Kappus); his family member, Gina Kappus; his aunt, Susie Couillard; his cousins, Chris Reblin, Teresa Konz, Shawn Mueller, Charlene Maurer, Mindy Richards; and his close friend, Patrice Hughes.

He was preceded in death by hismother, Marlene Tappa, and his sister, Cherie Kappus.

Services will be held at a future date in Wisconsin for close relatives and friends only.

He will be greatly missed, but his memory will remain with us forever.
