IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard Paul
Fafard
December 9, 1949 – March 18, 2026
Richard Paul Fafard, 76, passed away on March 18, 2026. He was known for his honesty, strong work ethic, and a life spent providing for those he loved.
Richard had a deep appreciation for simple, meaningful moments—whether it was time spent fishing, listening to music, or working with his hands on mechanical repairs. He was someone who could fix just about anything and was always willing to lend that skill to others. He believed in doing things the right way, and in showing up for the people who mattered.
He raised his daughters to be strong, capable, and independent women, and took pride in the lives they built. His love for his family was steady and constant, even when it wasn't always spoken.
He is survived by his daughters, Niki Sothers and Tracie McIllwain; his sons-in-law, David Sothers and James McIllwain; and his cherished grandchildren, Justin Fafard, Hanna Sothers, Trent Sothers, and Callie McIllwain. He is also survived by his siblings, Carol Guest and Danny Fafard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Yvonne and Robert Fafard, and his sister, Marilyn Pye.
Richard will be remembered for his steady presence, practical wisdom, dry humor, and the lasting impact he made on the people who knew and loved him.
No services are planned. Berryhill Funeral Home assisted the family.
