It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard Alan Haupt, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left this world peacefully on July 28 at the age of 60.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, "Hoppy" Cletus and Marie Haupt, his sister Diane, and his nephew Brandon. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Haupt; his children Justin (Brittany) Haupt, Ricky Haupt, Lucy (David) Thompson, and Daniel (Hollie) Arrington.

He is also survived by his brother Dennis (Julie), and sisters Angie (Wyatt) and Denise. Richard was a proud and loving grandfather to Carson, Wesley, Tinley, Remi, Hunter, Peyton, Hope, Jackson, Daphne, and Hudson, grandchildren he absolutely adored and cherished every moment with. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Richard was truly a family man,the kind of person who would drop anything to help the ones he loved. A skilled and respected mechanic for many years, he was known as the go-to guy when something broke. And if Richard couldn't fix it, well, it simply couldn't be fixed.

He loved his wife deeply,even on college football Saturdays when she said "Roll Tide" to his "War Eagle." Their bond was rooted in love, laughter, and a shared life full of memories. One of his greatest joys was time spent at the beach and family days, where he passed down stories, created lasting memories, and made everyone feel at home.

Richard's presence, humor, and heart will be missed beyond words by all who knew and loved him.

The family will be holding a private celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the CICU II at Huntsville Hospital, whose exceptional care meant the world to Richard and his family.
