Obituary

Richard Everett Mook, 67, passed away October 8, 2022 in Huntsville, Alabama.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 5 th at 10:00 am at the first lookout at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, Alabama.

Mr. Mook was born May 20, 1955 in Montgomery, Alabama to Lemuel Everett Mook and Cathryn Warr Mook.  He graduated from Lanier High School in 1973, and attended college at Auburn University of Montgomery.  He worked for the Alabama Department of Transportation for 27 years where he served as the chief noise analyst.  He was retired and was residing in Huntsville, Alabama with his children and grandchildren as of 2017.

From an early age, he loved being outdoors, camping, and fishing.  He loved to spend time at the beaches in Alabama and Florida.  He loved listening to and playing music and was a local DJ in Montgomery for many years.  He loved Alabama football and was hardly ever seen without wearing some sort of Alabama clothing.

He is survived by his children Kailie Kelly, Shelby Jeffries (Eddie), his sister Judy Carbon (Gill), his grandchildren Sawyer, Ellie, Owen, and Olivia, Roman, Micah, and Noah. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, sister (Cindy), and son-in-law (Matthew).
