Rick Locklear passed away peacefully at his home in Gurley on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 surrounding by his wife and two sons. He was 70 years old. He was born April 18, 1955 to Danny and Shirley Locklear in Buffalo, New York.

Mr. Locklear is survived by his wife of 47 years, Angie Pettyjohn Locklear; two sons, Eric (Britney) Locklear of Huntsville and Justin Locklear of Gurley; sister, Michelle (Michael) Henderson of Fort Payne; three grandchildren: Sam, Olive and James Locklear of Huntsville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Tim Pettyjohn of Section, Donald Joe and Freda Hughes of Gaylesville, Dewayne and Kim Gregg of Cedar Bluff; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Nettie Pettyjohn; step-brothers, Jimmy (Beth) Dean and David (Jo) Dean; and step-mother, Joyce Locklear.

He was a retired Electrician from both Goodyear in Scottsboro and University of Alabama in Huntsville. He was a 1973 graduate of Fort Payne High School in Fort Payne.

AKA Pops and Nana-Ang loved spending time with their two sons, daughter-in-law and grandkids. He was very proud of his family. He never met a stranger and would talk to anyone and everyone. He always had a smile on his face. Although he suffered several years from Parkinson's, he never complained. Husband, dad, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and a friend to so many, he will dearly be missed by them all.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28th at Berryhill Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.  The funeral service will take place in the chapel on Monday, December 29th at 2:00 PM with Caleb Gregg officiating.  Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Ryland.

Pallbearers are Tim Pettyjohn, Donald Joe Hughes, Michael Henderson, Dewayne Gregg, Nathan Hughes, and Andrew Hughes.
