Obituary

Robert Allen Cooper; better known as Bob, age 88 of Gurley, Al passed away Wednesday October 14th surrounded by his family that deeply loved him. He leaves behind a lifetime or memories that will forever be treasured.

Robert was a very hard worker. In fact one of the hardest working men you could ever know. He devoted his life to providing for and taking care of the people he loved most. He deeply loved his wife and daughters, and his family always new they could depend on him. Robert had an awesome sense of humor and a special way of making those around him laugh. His quick wit and laughter he brought will be remembered and missed. He enjoyed Alabama football and Atlanta braves baseball as well.

Robert received the Holy Ghost in May of 2013 , which prepared him to meet his lord and savior. Of all things he was proud of his salvation and grandchildren along with his great children “ papas Grandbabies ” brought him peace, great joy and held an especially precious place in his heart.

Robert is survived by his wife of 60 years Betty Cooper; Daughters Renae England and husband Tobey, Jodi Brown and her Husband Jeremy, and Lisa Jones. Grandchildren Blaine Brown and wife Sara, Cameron England, Sierra Brown , Antony Olinger, Malea Fitch, Issac Fitch, Eden Fitch and Emory Fitch. Great grandchildren Isabella Brown, Sawyer Brown and Clara Hill. Brother Larry Cooper and wife Sue, and his sister Cathy Cooper

Robert was proceeded in death by his wonderful daughter Susan Culver; his parents Roy and Clara Cooper, brothers James Emmett Cooper and wife Carol, Bill Cooper and Wayne Cooper.

Robert leaves behind much more than any list of accomplishments. He leaves behind the example of a man who worked hard, kept going even when he was sick, provided for his family, enjoyed a good laugh, a good game, and took pride in the people he loved. He was a child of God, devoted husband, loving father, proud papa, great brother who s family meant everything to him.

There will be an empty place in his families heart and soul that will never be filled, but they know he is home. His voice, hum or, presence, deep love and depending on him to be there will always be remembered.

Special thanks to AMEDISY Hospice (Abby, Nichole, Jackie , Crystal and Pastor Eric) for the outstanding care, passion, and love provided to Robert and his family.
