IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Glynn
Gean
August 16, 1931 – August 29, 2025
Robert Glynn Gean passed on to his Savior's glory on Friday, August 29, 2025 having recently celebrated his 94th birthday.
Robert was the third child of Robert Aulsie Gean and Lillie Mae Greer Gean, born August 16, 1931 near the banks of the Mississippi River. He enjoyed a full and Christ-filled life. In addition to his dedication to Christ, Robert was proud of his service in the US Air Force, proud of his marriage of over 64 years to Joyce Christeen Sigler Gean and proud of his sons and their families.
Robert and Joyce moved from Memphis, Tennessee to Huntsville, Alabama in 1965 for work on Redstone Arsenal. Robert retired from his military career (Active and Reserve) and his Civil Service career around 1989 and spent the next years in many church roles including Sunday School and Training Union teacher, Deacon, various Committees, Deacon chair, Pastoral Search Committee Chair, and others. Robert considered these opportunities to serve and he was proud to do so.
He is preceded in death and now rejoices in heaven with his mother and father, his loving wife, an infant son Robert Gean, Jr., his eldest son Glen Gean of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and his sisters Maida Gean Hall and Evelyn Gean Campbell, both of Memphis, Tennessee.
Survivors include his sons: Lee Gean (Martha) and Mark Gean (Connie); his daughter-in-law Brigette Gean; grandchildren: Aaron Gean, Meredith Hull (Morgan), Matthew Gean (Gracie) and Zachary Gean (Isabel); great-granddaughters Ellie and Kate Hull; and sister-in-law Rebecca Sigler.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Oak Park Baptist Church of Huntsville, Hospice, Visiting Angels or another charity of your choice.
