Robert Fredrick Hardy, 86, passed away on October 7, 2025. He was born on May 29, 1939, in Lowell, MA. He moved to Huntsville in the 1980s, where he resided until his death.
Preceded in death: Parents - Albert and Helen Hardy; Brothers - John and Albie Hardy; Grandson - Ryan Hardy; Step-Son-in-Law - James Woods Jr.
Survivors include his loving wife of 26 years Claudia Hardy; Sons - Mark (Karen), Steve (Ana), and Eric (Audra). Daughter - Lisa Astramecki (Ross); Brother - Tom Hardy; Sister - Liz Wilkie; Grandchildren - Jordan (Kait) Grey, Kathryn Grey, David Hardy, Loren Hardy, Jenna Hardy, Mackenzie Hardy, Aidan Hardy, and Isabella Hardy. Great-grandchildren - Ava Grassmuck, Dylan Grey, and Fischer Grey: Stepchildren - Kim Woods, George (Pam) Brown, Rachel (Tony) Trickey, and Jason Brown. Step-grandchildren - Brandon Woods, Tony Trickey Jr., and Laura Trickey; His beloved cat - TomTom, and many dear friends.
He was fondly called "Boston Bob" by his friends.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran. After serving in the Navy, he worked as a skilled carpenter until the late 1980s. Then, he formed a contracting business as a general contractor.
He loved going to the beach and doing saltwater fishing in the Gulf.
He was a huge Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hospice of North Alabama for their compassionate care they provided to Robert in his final months.
No services are planned at this time. Berryhill Funeral Home assisted the family.
