Robert O’Byrne (Bob) Quinn of Huntsville, AL, passed away at home on July 28th, 2026. He was 96 years old.
Bob is remembered as a charming, true “Southern Gentleman” who loved his family and friends. He was a lifelong Auburn fan, quick to offer a big War Eagle! A hard worker, he owned multiple businesses and rental properties before retiring. Over the years, he became a pilot, played guitar by ear, owned champion Walking Horses, and fiercely protected those he loved. He was highly intelligent, serious but with a witty, mischievous side. His eyes twinkled, and the biggest, brightest smile beamed across his face when talking about his children. Just a month before his passing, he said they were “the best thing that he had ever done”.
We feel rich and blessed to have the privilege and honor to share his earthly journey and to call him “Dad”. We are even richer to have God’s promise of an eternity with him.
Bob leaves the legacy of a life well lived. May he rest in peace knowing how deeply he was loved and how the people he touched are better for having known him. He will be missed but leaves warm memories that will be treasured forever.
Bob is survived by his beloved partner, Nancy McCorkle and their fur-baby “Buddy” who stayed by his side; children: Lea Ann Quinn Nolen (Eric) of Horton, AL, and John Phillip Quinn of Huntsville, AL; daughter-in-law: Robin Quinn of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren: Lyndsey Nolen Duncan (Hunter) of Blountsville, AL, Tanner Nolen of Blountsville, AL, Landon Quinn, US Air Force stationed in Las Vegas, NV, Chandler Quinn of Montgomery, AL, Nicholas Quinn (Kimberly) of Huntsville, AL, and Chris Quinn (Pam) of Huntsville, AL; and great-grandchildren: Jonathan and Blair Quinn of Huntsville, AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Oda Quinn, brothers Ray and Bill Young, and sons Mike and Alan Quinn.
