Obituary

Robert Paul Schwartz, 64, of Huntsville, Alabama departed peacefully on April 10, 2026 surrounded by his immediate family. His quick wit and dry sarcasm were matched only by his huge heart for the people (and dogs) in his life. He was a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, and while we rejoice in his peace, we also mourn his passing.

Robert was born in Miami, Florida on November 17, 1961 to Seymour and Marilyn Schwartz as the youngest of four boys. He attended school in Miami and went on to graduate from the University of Florida after spending all four of his college years playing in the band. Robert was an avid Florida Gators and Miami Dolphins fan, and until his passing, continued to play the euphonium in various bands and groups, making music his greatest lifelong passion.

He was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Monrovia where he faithfully attended Sunday school classes, frequently served as an usher, and played euphonium for holiday and other special services. When his children were in school, Robert could be found at every band function, trip, game, or concert and frequently served as a member of the band boosters to support a continued legacy of music.

Robert’s memory will be carried on by his loving wife Cindy, daughters Meagan, Brittany, and Sarah, and beloved grandchildren, Harper, Caroline, Benjamin, Teddy, and Maddie. He is also survived by his older brothers Barry Schwartz of McCormick, South Carolina; Daniel Schwartz of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and Eric Schwartz of Gainesville, Florida. He is preceded in death by his parents, Seymour Schwartz and Marilyn Levin Schwartz.

Visitation will be held at Berryhill Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 from 12:00-2:00 PM m. A graveside service will follow at Valhalla cemetery at 2:30 PM.

The family thanks everyone for the outpouring of love and support.
