Ronald J. Hotaling passed away on December 21, 2025 at the age of 89.

He was born in Albany, NY, where he was raised after the death of his mother. The Overdorf family raised him as one of their own. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army, which brought him to Redstone in Huntsville, AL. He then met and married Patsy Brewer.

After being discharged from the U.S. Army, he returned to Huntsville and worked for Chrysler at NASA during the Race for Space era. He then worked for other contractors for many years, then some of the shuttle program years.

He enjoyed ice skating, roller skating, water skiing, boating, and camping. He was also a life guard and high diver where he taught many youngsters how to swim.

Ron was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed daily.

He is survived by his daughter, Melody; grandchildren, Amanda and Ryan; and his great-granddaughter, Lela.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 27th, beginning at 2:00 PM at Maple Hill Cemetery.
