Rosa Padilla Foote, age 70, passed away January 1, 2026, in Huntsville, Alabama after a brief, but courageous battle against cancer.

Rosa was born January 20, 1955, in Joliet, Illinois to the late Modesto and Maria Toscano Padilla.

As one of nine children, Rosa developed a tireless love for family at an early age. She took great pride in being a caring mother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, and grandmother. Rosa also cherished the many friends she made throughout her life and career, often speaking at length about the friends she clearly considered family as well.

She had many passions throughout her life. She loved baking, gardening, traveling with friends and family, caring for her pets, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, Modesto and Maria Padilla; nephew, Richard Padilla; siblings, Angelina Smith and Jose Padilla.

Rosa is survived by her son, Eric Foote (Julie) and three grandchildren, Kendal, Mila, and Brooks of Huntsville, Alabama; siblings, Peter Padilla, Mary Zapfel, Teresa Riesche, Lucy Gombash (Frank), Michael Padilla (Laura), David Padilla and numerous nieces and nephews.
