Born on April 26, 1962, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Bill and Jeanne Gardner, Roxanna Leiann Herring peacefully passed from this life on May 20, 2025, after a long illness.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, James Herring of Huntsville, Alabama; two sons: Derek Herring (wife Jessie and their children, Logan and Evelyn) of Cullman, Alabama, and Nathaniel Herring (fiancée Julia Kimbel) of Huntsville; three siblings: Chris Gardner of Haughton, Louisiana; Kimla Hathaway (husband Clay and daughter Samantha) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Tina Keas (husband Jeff and son Dylan) of Arvada, Colorado.

Roxanna graduated from Trinity Heights Baptist in Shreveport in 1981. She spent part of her professional life handling office finance and bookkeeping. After the birth of her younger son, Nathaniel, in 1999, she chose to dedicate herself to being a full-time mother. Roxanna was deeply involved in her sons' education, eagerly volunteering as a PTA mom and later working as a substitute teacher to stay engaged in their academic lives. She continued these roles until health concerns required her to step away in 2019.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Roxanna found joy in gardening, yard work, bicycling, walking, hiking, camping, and fishing. A natural problem-solver and engineer at heart, she enjoyed repairing things and inventing clever solutions to everyday challenges. She remained active in these pursuits until health complications in 2023 limited her abilities. Roxanna will be remembered for her boundless energy, her deep love for her family, and the care she poured into everything she did.
