Sandra Kay Hauser, age 65, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on October 26, 2026.

Sandra dedicated much of her life to serving others, both personally and professionally. She retired in 2020 after more than 20 years of dedicated service with the Madison County Commission.

Sandra was best known for her heart of gold. She cared deeply for people and animals alike and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Her thoughtfulness, humble spirit, and willingness to put others before herself were defining qualities that impacted countless lives.

An avid gardener, Sandra took great pride in earning her Master Gardener certification. Her love for gardening reflected the same patience, care, and nurturing spirit she brought to every part of her life. She also cherished her church community at Trinity United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed fellowship and continuing her lifelong commitment to helping and supporting those around her.

Her love for animals was a meaningful part of who she was. Throughout the years, Sandra opened her heart and home to many beloved pets and also spent time volunteering with local animal rescue organizations. She treated animals with the same unconditional love and tenderness she gave to the people around her. She leaves behind her two treasured dogs, Rubi and Willow, who meant so much to her and were a constant source of love and companionship.

Sandra is survived by her beloved husband, Paul Hauser; her daughter, Kelsey Hauser; her brothers, Lynn Henley and Randy Henley; her sister, Delores Thompson; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Sandra's life was a testament to the power of kindness, compassion, and generosity. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her, leaving behind countless memories and a legacy of love that will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and community.

A memorial service celebrating Sandra’s life will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Huntsville, Alabama. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service in the sanctuary at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to A New Leash on Life, in honor of Sandra’s lifelong compassion for animals and her unwavering love for all living things.
