Sandra Saunders was called to her heavenly Father's home on April 11, 2025. In her time on earth, she embraced many roles with grace and love. Sandra was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a dedicated teacher, a mentor, and a cherished friend. She graduated from Madison Academy and went on to earn her degree from Harding University. For over 20 years, she taught biology, human anatomy, and physiology at Sparkman High School, where she also led the National Honor Society.

Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Brooks Church, her mother, Hazel Church, her husband, Larry Saunders, and her youngest brother, Jim Church.

She is survived by her brother, Bob (Rosa) Church; her sister, Joyce Bolt; her eldest son, Sid Saunders; her daughter, Sarah Saunders; her youngest son, Steve Saunders; and her two beloved grandchildren, Sydney and Jackson Saunders. Sandra is also remembered fondly by several cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as a close-knit circle of special friends and family, including Carolyn Phillips, Deanna Moore, Kathy Sparks-Eric & Lilly, Sandra Upton, Addye Hanback, Jackie Rudolph, Susie Clemmons, and many others from her church family who were always by her side.

Sandra's absence will be deeply felt, not only by her loving family but also by her many friends and brothers and sisters in Christ. Though there will be an empty seat at the ladies' lunch, we take comfort in knowing that she is now breaking bread with her Heavenly Father and His Son.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15th, from 5:00-8:00 PM at Berryhill Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place the following day, Wednesday, April 16th, beginning at 11:00 AM, officiated by Ron Williams. Burial will take place at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
