Sheri Elaine May Brown, 57, of New Market, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, James Hurley; children, Alex Brown (Mary Caitlin) and Noel Brown Jackson (Lamont); grandchildren, Tristen Jackson, McCarson Brown, and Benett Brown; and sister, Michelle McDanielle.

She is preceded by her parents, Mike and Dorothy May.

Mrs. Brown spent her career as a teacher.  She taught at Union Hill, Priceville, and Handley.  Her teaching career spanned 25 years, during which she touched the lives of countless children through education.  Sheri is remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  Family was everything to Sheri. Her favorite go-to place was the beach.   She found passion in running.  She participated in seven marathons, most of which she completed for a particular cause.   During her retirement, she discovered a newfound passion for disc golf.
